David joins Lake Region Union High School with 29 years of experience working in Vermont public schools.  He lives in Hyde Park, VT with two teenage sons.  He also has an adult son who lives in New York.

David began his career as a mental health counselor with the Morrisville School system before becoming a Guidance Counselor at Peoples Academy.  He then served as the Guidance Director and Assistant Principal at Hazen Union School in Hardwick.  During his time working in high schools, David developed a passion for connecting with students. He found immense fulfillment in building relationships with teens, guiding them through challenges, and seeing them transform into young adults ready to succeed. These experiences allowed him to witness firsthand the impact of strong, supportive connections on student outcomes.

For the past 16 years, David has served as the principal at Johnson Elementary School.  Being the only administrator in a small, rural school allowed David to experience every aspect of a school from transportation to food service, to curriculum, and supporting students with positive behavior and engagement.  He has consistently worked to create environments where all students and their caregivers feel supported and empowered to succeed.

David is excited to join this thriving school community and do his part to keep providing the students of Lake Region Union High School with a world class educational experience.
